The motto of J & J wholesale food distribution company in St. Paul is — what do you need? When many of their grocery store clients replied — better, fresher, locally grown produce — J & J found a partner to build a 38,000 sq. ft. greenhouse at its distribution warehouse on Rice Street. Food distribution is a business where minutes count and retailers can be demanding — challenges that J & J had to meet to expand their operations from four employees in 1978 to 200 and growing today.
